Instead of having the FDA regulate tobacco, where there are NO innocent victims, why not go after booze?
There are more instances of innocents being harmed by drunk drivers, or an abusive drunk, than there are with cigarettes. Daily, this happens.
People who smoke know the risks. People who drink enough don’t care about the risks. To themselves, [...]

A $3,000,000.00, 12,000 sq.ft. mansion in New Jersey was in foreclosure. A man bought it, thinking he would do whatever repairs were needed, then sell it for a profit, got a little bit of comeuppance.
He bought this mansion sight unseen. He went to inspect his “buy”, & found that the house had been declared unfit [...]

I just don’t know about this.

Seems to me they, the parents, are training themselves to see when the baby needs to potty, but what do I know? I’m no expert, I’ve only had 3 kids. I used diapers (cloth, even) until they knew when to potty. Then came the training pants. Even though I never worked when [...]

I got a call from Chris yesterday afternoon, where he started out by saying “I’m gonna tell you this, but first….It didn’t really happen. It’s been checked out, & everything is beautiful.”
Yesterday was the 24th year since our youngest son died in a drowning accident. We were both doing pretty well, then Chris gets a [...]

I saw on GMA this morning a member of the state government, for Georgia I think, wants to make it illegal for kids to wear their pants so loose that their undies show. I agree with him. Of course, the ACLU has to chime in, which is nothing unusual. Said it may be repulsive, but [...]

Sleeping with a 65 pound dog on your pillows. Not to mention that the gutless wonder is an 11 year old German Shepherd, so she’s shedding all over the place.
It’s very rare that a thunderstorm comes through during the night. It did last night. At 1:15 AM, lightning, then immediate thunder woke me up. To see [...]
He thinks I’ll work on a toilet

When I told Chris that I had a plumbing project in mind, he thought he would “help” my education & have me rebuild one of our toilets.
Oh no, no, no.
I hate getting scalded while taking a shower. The valves are old style, not balancing. I want a balancing valve. I can do this. Actually, what [...]
Was it worth it?

A woman in Okemos, Michigan who worked for a DNA testing lab was fired in August. Why? She tested a pair of her husband’s shorts for DNA to see if he was cheating. She found some that wasn’t hers, so she got a divorce. Understandable. But, was it worth it?
She’s an award winning scientist. The [...]
How to make him wear his helmet
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged The comedic side of life on August 22, 2007 | 3 Comments »
If you’re over 18 & ride a motorcycle in Colorado, you have the “option” of wearing a helmet. It isn’t mandatory. Which I feel is stupid, but who listens to me, anyway?
Chris was going to pick up the little truck this morning, & was taking his motorcycle to get there. Then he would come back, [...]
I hate shopping

It was only PetsMart & the grocery, but still. I would much rather do it via Amazon.com, but that isn’t happening. I’ve tried the “shop from home” that Kroger/King Soopers has, but they substitute for something on your list if they can’t find what you’ve put down. Besides, not even I’m that lazy.
While in PetsMart, [...]
