Ok, so after a single woman has kids, she can devote her life to celibacy & be a virgin again? Or a couple who gets married, has kids, then stops having sex to be pure of heart?
Where does the idiocy originate?

To me, the misuse of the word “virgin” started when we started referring to men who have not had sex as virgins. I took high school Latin and can tell you that in the beginning, the Latin word “virgin” meant “girl” and nothing more. The reference to sexual innocence came later on.
But having said that, western society has suffered enough from sexual license in our time, and if in realizing that, some people compensate wildly in the other direction, it’s to be expected.
I think this site contains some really fantastic info for everyone : D.
