My days generally start early, as I have an older dog whose bladder strength I worry about. Yesterday was no exception.
I found out that the admin assistant for one of Chris’ vendors had a boyfriend who was driving her to work, then told her last Wednesday that last Friday was her last day. So the numerous emails that I had sent, requesting status on parts deliveries had gone to the ether. Her boss was helping his father & had no access to email. (The store where the employee tried to sell me an aquarium has had their parts for a week without saying anything. They’ll be put in today.) He’s now buried in paper.
Then my email starts acting up, so I call Comcast. According to them, it’s an Outlook malfunction, & I should transfer everything to their Webmail. I thanked him & hung up. Then I found an update for Small Business Office that seemed to do the trick. Email back in shape. What is “SP3″?
Earlier in the morning, Joe had informed me that he wanted to invite the girl he’s been seeing over for dinner, that he would let me know. At noon I told him if I didn’t get a confirmation soon, he could plan on another day. It’ll happen another day.
As I was finishing up dinner, for just the 3 of us, he’s heading to the garage. I ask where he’s going, & was told he had to go to Jayson’s house, but would be back in time to eat. Uh huh. I told him that after his father & I were done, I was cleaning up the kitchen & it had better look the same after he has his dinner. He leaves.
Chris & I were in the front, & saw a strange woman pulling up to Bob’s house. A little later, I hear a clanging sound & go to check. Bob is selling his house! I guess I’ll keep my dandelion seeds to myself. He’s soon to retire & they are moving to Grand Junction.
After dinner is over, Joe is back, kitchen is clean, my phone rings. It’s a call from the Marriott. They have water pouring down from one of the upper floors & can’t locate the source. I get Joe headed out, then Bennie calls back. They found the source of the water. A lady was taking a shower & pouring water all over the floor in the process. Leak stopped. I called Joe & turned him around.
The end of the day. Chris is on the couch, having his pre-bedtime nap, Joe is downstairs, I’ve fed the fish, brought in the birds & put them to bed, & the girls have come in. One of them got a drink & dropped water on the floor. As I was going to close & lock the back door, I hit the water & my feet went out from under me. I land, very hard, on my butt while hitting my upper arm on the “Big Dog Feeder” tray. Knocked the wind out of me. All I could do was sit there. Chris woke up, it scared him & Joe came running up. As I was sitting there, trying to get the feeling back in my ribs, back, & arm, all I could think was “I’m too old for this crap”. I do believe I told Chris I will be putting down carpet for Katie to walk on, so the dog bowls can go back where they should be.
My ribs are sore this morning, as is my back, & I’m gonna have a serious bruise on my arm. I think I may go back to bed.
Poor Karen! I know what you go through. As you know we have 3 dogs, the largest sleeps all day but the 2 little ones are under my feet all day. I can’t tell you how many times I have been traveling down the steps with laundry basket in hand and they have tripped me. I told Frank the last time I went to the Doctor’s I thought she would call the police on him, but I convinced her that the dogs are obnoxious and I am clumsy.
Yeah, I hear ya. I’m still sore in the back, & to add insult to injury, the barometer is falling, so major muscles in my legs are hurting too.
I feel like I’ve been beat on, but since Chris has a thing against that (lucky for me) I know I haven’t. (He has a thing against any man who would hit a woman in general. He would like to beat on them.)
I’ve worried about my idiots knocking me down the stairs while carrying a clothes basket down, but so far so good.
