Mouthy, isn’t he?

The other day, the news was on & the stock market was being talked about.
Joe was listening & he heard the stock for Amazon.com had gone down.
Being his father’s son, he turned around & asked, with a straight face:
“What happened? You stop buying books?”

As I was passing through the den a bit ago, I heard on GMA about how well the “Cash for Clunkers” program is doing. So well in fact, that the program could run out of money by the end of August. Good for whoever feels the need to participate, I suppose.
Then there’s the other thing [...]

A lot of people are. The reason? The health care “debate” that isn’t happening.
47 million people in this country don’t have access to good, affordable health care. There’s a problem with that. A big problem, that the right leaning people don’t seem to understand or care about. I’m trying not to get upset about the statement I’ve [...]

About 9:30 PM Monday night, I noticed a significant drop in the temperature. Good, I thought, the front they were talking about has come through. Then I heard low [...]

Dealing with bureaucracy is maddening just in theory. In actuality, it’s worse. I think D.O.R.A. has a deal cut with the post office on top of it.
When a form has to be sent in, they want it sent certified. Not just regular, but certified. Five bucks a shot to get a letter size envelope to [...]

A lesson learned

While Amazon.com is my favorite shopping spot, I’ve learned a valuable lesson today.
If you buying a bigger item for use around the house, do so in Target. That way, you can see what you’re getting. And if it isn’t right, you get an immediate refund.
I will buy a new vacuum cleaner from Target or Sears. In [...]
