So I’m sitting at my desk, playing solitary on the computer & Words with Friends on my phone. You try to get a word from 1 vowel & 6 consonants. Most of which are oddball. Not happening. But my notification goes off, to let me know I have a new email. I read it. It’s from here.
Some poor soul thinks I set up the Emily Keyes Foundation as well as lost a daughter.
Uhm, no, I didn’t. Yes, I’ve lost a child. But he was my son & it was in ’83.
To catch up, I have no more birds. They lived out their lives peacefully. Katie had to be put down when she was 13, due to a tumor on her spine. She was in pain all the time. Couldn’t hardly walk. It was time. Loki is almost 8. There’s a strong possibility she has Pannus, which is a keratin growth in her right eye. It has the potential to blind her if it isn’t treated. She has to stay out of the direct sun as UV rays are the cause of it. A middle-aged German shepherd raised in the altitude is most susceptible. Drops of a steroid & a cream in the affected eye has gotten it under control. She has ‘doggles’ on the way. Sunglasses for dogs. This could turn out to be a nightmare, but we’ll see.
Malcolm has found the joys of canned food. Her doctor said let her have what she wants. At the time, she weighed 4.8 pounds & had lost 5 teeth. She is almost 17 now. Otherwise, she’s fine. As picky as a cat can be.
Maybe I’ll pay more attention to this. I have to have something to do while I try to stop smoking. Chris already has. I’m working on it.
To Lissa, I believe….. The Emily Keyes ride will be in September, somewhere around the 25th or so. Columbine High School is where it leaves from. Ride in it, if you can.
Ok, back to my letters to make a word. I hope.
